Its good to share. So I thought I would pass on some tips about Publc Speaking from time to time.
Firstly – if you are interested in learning about Public Speaking you should visit a couple of speakers clubs. These are usually low cost organisations where you will learn a lot about the art and craft of speaking in public. You can usually attend a couple of meetings for free to see what happens. At first it will seem strange and there are rules to learn and protocols to follow but they have a purpose – to help develop members as Public Speakers. I am a member of both the Association of Speakers Clubs (ASC) www.the-asc.org.uk and Toastmasters International www.toastmasters.org these are both excellent organisations. Check out their web sites and visit the affiliated clubs of both in your area. They will vary because they are run by people and people vary but you will get a warm welcome.
Look for one where evaluation (feedback) is given to speakers in a friendly constructive and clear way. Good evaluation that high lights what you do right and what could be improved is worth its weight in gold and should be sought out not avoided!
