Harrogates Terry Ryan won the Yorkshire Post Trophy in the Association of Speakers Clubs (ASC) prestigious Vale of York Area Speech Contest on Saturday 15th January with his humorous speech “Thanks A Bunch Nancy.”
Terry was delighted with the win which takes him through to the next stage of the ASC's national speaking competition which could ultimately lead to a place in the final in Edinburgh on April 16th.
Terry said "its especially rewarding to get a first place firstly because the quality of the competition was very high but also because every stage of this competition is judged by a panel of judges made up of fellow public speakers who know exactly what they are looking for from a speaker"
